LAST DAY IN DERBYSHIRE
Slowing down..... easing up.... transition time....
George wanted to see a cave so we went back to Castleton. While he was caving I took a loop walk through Cave Dale. The complete 9 mile walk would have been great but I didnt have time, I did a short 3 mile. Though it was short it was a long, steady climb to high pastures and birds-eye views, then the last 1/2 mile was downhill on a steep rocky path that had a stream running down it so the rocks were slippery. At times I could hold onto the rock walls for balance. It was gorgeous though. Everyone else was going up, which was safer. The walking here in the Peak District is amazing, I'll just have to come back.
Neither of us wanted dinner, I might take a short walk around the village and into the lanes before bed. Shops have closed, the church bells are ringing for the Sunday evening service, everyone has gone home.
Time to go......
P.S. -------> George said the Peak Cave experience was underwhelming.
