Oh Hampshire!

Day Ten  Continued June 8 Monday

I think I just used all the water in Hampshire. The bathroom is heaven.

The shower, I can't begin to tell you. As I said, there's no water left, the hot water kept coming and the force was enough to blow me out of the bathroom.

My Room

The morning newspaper comes in its own bag hung on the door knob. And the housekeeper places my bathroom stuff on a special towel. She even slipped a bookmark in the book I had by the bed. This really IS Downton Abbey. I'm starting to like this.

Linda and I walked to the next village of Crookham where there was a pub called the Exchequer.  Unfortunately it was closed and with few options and no car we had to eat at the hotel. They sure are full of themselves here.

The walk was along the Basingstoke Canal. The Basingstoke Canal is 32 miles long and was completed in 1794, built to connect the town of Basingstoke with the River Thames to move agriculture to market.
Along the way there are WWI bunkers and some odd cement structures we couldnt identify.

I was tired by the end of the day - driving from Hartington, saying goodbye to George, moving on to Hampshire... zzzzzzzz.
The day ended fast, tomorrow starts the adventure.
