TAKE A BREAK and lets look at cats!

Apparently cats are lucky in York, another good reason to move here, right? Cat statues were placed on buildings to scare away rats, like we put owls to keeps birds off or "This home protected by an alarm system" stickers. But rats carried plagues and illness, which they figured out eventually, so cats were a good thing. They were also thought to ward off wandering spirits and generally to bestow good luck and health on citizens. 


We didnt think we'd have time to do the Cat Trail but this morning we stayed a little longer in town. We found all 22 of them, here are some of the best:

Any city that loves cats like York does is my kind of place.
